Managing Director

Co-owner of a consulting practice focused on strategy alignment, operations improvement, and process reengineering with a specialty in IT transformation work, turning order-takers into business partners. Second specialty is streamlining new product development processes to reduce time-to-market. Also authored a soon-to-be-published business book.

Co-owner of business that develops websites, ecommerce sites, and new web businesses. Primarily responsible for development of business cases, sources of funding, and creation of new businesses.

2008 Iris Interactive Software

VP Consulting and Implementation

Responsible for starting a US practice for this Australian project management and new product launch software company and for providing implementation services. Company lost funding late 2008 during banking crisis. Some accomplishments include:

  • Led the leadership team through a strategy development process and created mission, vision, values, and high-level plan,
  • Created marketing messages and VC presentations, and
  • Developed sales opportunities with Wyeth and Merck and met with venture capitalists to secure funding.

2007 – 2008 Johnson & Johnson Consumer Group

Business Relationship Manager for Consumer Healthcare Marketing

Responsible for overseeing digital marketing initiatives for Consumer Healthcare brands including Listerine, Band Aid, Neosporin, Rogaine, K-Y, Reach, Purell,  plus others. More specifically:


  • Worked with Marketing and agencies to ensure smooth execution of integrated marketing campaigns and associated measurements. Some campaigns were Listerine Night time, Listerine Kids, KY Expressions.
  • Initiated new and updated and expanded existing customer relationship marketing programs and ecommerce sites,
  • Developed best practices for online marketing execution and use of emerging technologies, most notably developing standards for SEO and best practices for user-generated content,
  • Worked with Marketing leadership to improve operations, streamline processes and develop program management capabilities.

2001- 2007 Pfizer Consumer Healthcare (PCH)

2003 - 2007 PCH Global Business Technology Senior Manager International Markets

Responsible for developing IT strategies and overseeing projects in the Asia-Pacific region for the consumer healthcare business. This entailed managing relationships across information technology and businesses in individual markets, initiating and managing regional projects, managing software vendor relationships, providing quality assurance and guidance on local projects, and collaborating with other company divisions on joint projects. Some accomplishments include:

  • Initiated and led a project to improve new product launches within and across key Asia-Pacific markets. Reengineered marketing, sales, sourcing, and regulatory processes in multiple countries to follow a phase gate approach resulting in cycle time reduction of 20%.
  • Implemented project and portfolio management processes and system for new product development and introduction in Australia, the Philippines and Japan.
  • Developed a market maturity model outlining the Customer Relationship Management and Supply Chain capabilities of mature, maturing, and emerging markets for use as an IT strategy development and process roadmap tool for Asia-Pac. It contained best practices on the processes and systems that should be employed by markets in different stages of maturity.
  • Developed and implemented an IT governance model to oversee and prioritize projects and enacted the use of a robust SDLC in all the local markets.
  • Initiated a global Siebel CRM sales reporting and trade promotions management project with counterparts in US, Latin America, and Europe.
  • Acted as the Asia-Pacific lead for Information Management for the J&J acquisition of PCH. Worked as liaison between Pfizer and J&J, advising on activities required for separation and facilitating issue resolution.
  • Oversaw and managed the IT divestiture of Adams-Cadbury-Schweppes. Worked with Cadbury to define IT exit plans, data separation and transfer, and exit from the Morris Plains campus as well as managed the Transition Services Agreement terms and compliance.
  • Led a Technology Innovation “skunk works” team whose mission was to investigate and recommend new technology innovations. Projects included recommendations on EAI (Enterprise Application Integration) and SOA (Services-Oriented Architecture) and digital writing.

2001 - 2003 PCH Training Manager

Created a global training department for Global Business Technology to address slow adoption of new systems. Conducted an analysis to determine global IT training needs and issues, developed a strategy and two-year strategic plan for the training department, defined roles, responsibilities, and staffing, and executed the two-year plan. Some accomplishments include:

  • Developed and implemented a training methodology, including templates and practices for training development and delivery,
  • Established a highly-effective global training team,
  • Created a menu of services from self-help to desk-side training,
  • Oversaw numerous courses covering entire business operations including R&D, Sales, Finance, IT, Bus Dev,& Marketing
  • Became the company-wide virtual collaboration guru,
  • Brought customer satisfaction with dept from 72% when I joined to 98%.

2000 Independent Consultant

Operated a consulting business that specialized in teaching soft skills to technical personnel. Assisted Concretemedia in building HR department and an orientation program for new hires. Program objective was to improve client service and business acumen of their IT consultants and web developers. Content included project management, resource management, and strategic thinking.

1991 – 1999 Gemini Consulting (now Cap Gemini Ernst & Young)

Management Consultant

Management consultant in chemicals and pharmaceuticals industry specializing in large-scale restructuring and process re-engineering projects.Projects included:

  • Reducing the time-to-market by streamlining the new product launch and introduction processes for a generic drug manufacturer, including an upfront opportunity assessment process.
  • Reengineering global capital projects process including portfolio analysis and decision making process. Worked with CIO to save hundreds of millions of dollars on assets and capital management.
  • Developing a cost-reduction strategy that included re-engineering processes and improving operational effectiveness of inventory management, forecasting, scheduling, and order entry for a textile division at a Fortune 100 chemical company.
  • Reengineering processes and implementing systems for inventory management and scheduling resulting in cost savings for a plastics division of chemical company.
  • Created curriculum for and delivered global training programs for consultant staff in both soft and hard consulting skills.

Management Consultant

Management consultant in the Supply Chain and Manufacturing practice. Worked on projects to improve operational effectiveness for both process and discrete manufacturers through quality teams, process improvements, and systems implementations. Some projects included:

  • Implementing MRP II systems and JIT manufacturing practices at process manufacturers,
  • Improving scheduling and inventory management for a plastics manufacturer,
  • Optimizing shop floor layouts and WIP management at two hardware manufacturers,
  • Implementing activity-based costing and key performance indicators at a discrete manufacturer.

  • Worked on secret Strategic Defense Initiatives in this civilian branch of an Air Force think tank.
